Alex Otti Threatens To Take Action Over ₦10 Billion Missing Funds: Demands Airport From Ikpeazu

The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has accused former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of withdrawing ₦10 billion from the state’s account for an airport project that was never completed. Governor Otti made this revelation following an audit conducted by his administration.

In an interview with Arise News, Otti further alleged that Ikpeazu had commissioned a government building that was still incomplete. He described it as a fraudulent act against the state.

Otti explained, “My predecessor commissioned a government house on May 28. While the ground floor was fully completed with Italian furniture and proper finishing, the first and second floors were left unplastered, with no sanitary fittings—an obvious case of fraud.”

When asked if he would probe the former governor, Otti stated that it would be a distraction. He emphasized that with only four years in office, he had to focus on delivering for the people of Abia.

He added that his administration had engaged KPMG, which uncovered the ₦10 billion withdrawal for a non-existent airport project. Otti concluded, “We are asking for our money back or an airport to be built as promised.”
