Recent reports online suggested that the APC SEC meeting was scheduled for Thursday in Makurdi. However, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, clarified in a statement on Thursday that the governor is unaware of such a meeting.
Governor Alia has declared the alleged meeting as canceled and warned of consequences for anyone attempting to disrupt state peace through unauthorized gatherings. Kula emphasized, “As the APC leader in the state, no meeting can be called without my knowledge. Moreover, as the Chief Security Officer, I should be informed of all legitimate gatherings.”
He further stated, “Benue State, like Nigeria, is governed by law. Those seeking to undermine state authority must be aware of the consequences.
