While this case is under consideration by the highest court, I’ll abstain from engaging in any discussion or making predictions about the ongoing legal proceedings that are poised to have a significant impact on the nation.
Today, I will focus on the amusing and deceitful elements of the reports emerging from the Supreme Court that don’t align with the actual arguments presented in court. This peculiar pattern has persisted since the previous elections, and it often deviates from the courtroom’s reality.
If you remember, during the last elections, both the PDP and LP were sharing their own sets of election results on social media, which were completely different from the actual results. It was only when the TV stations began broadcasting the official results, as mandated by the authorities, that they ceased spreading misinformation.
It’s indeed a regrettable development in our political landscape, where the opposition often toys with the emotions of their supporters and significantly influences the thought processes of the general public. It’s disheartening and adds to the list of unsavory trends that we must endure.
These fake news merchants took the scary and unfounded headlines to the tribunal ruling that if you were following their timeline, you might have thought Tinubu would not only be thrown out at the tribunal but would have been physically called by the Judge and publicly flogged for his F**k up at the case.
However, all these expectations were founded on distorted narratives. They would initiate these false reports on WhatsApp, and gullible individuals would readily accept them.
They claimed that the judges would handle Tinubu in such a way that he would have no chance at the tribunal, but when the judgment was delivered, the judges collectively rebuked Peter Obi and Atiku as if they were schoolchildren found guilty of unfounded accusations, even instructing them to pay charges for their mishandling of the case. These outcomes were entirely contrary to the baseless beliefs they had spread about the trial proceedings.
These people are aware of what they are doing, and it is with deliberate intent that they concoct these fake results, so that when the results are announced and they see their losses, they will shout rigging. They also create stories of fake tribunal reports to the world, so that when they lose, they will say the Judges compromised.
Despite all the attention and drama surrounding the judiciary, what did it ultimately achieve for them other than shame and disgrace? It’s regrettable, and from today, brace yourself for more of such baseless discussions. This time, the imaginative minds will likely resurrect the CSU case and FBI files, creating a scenario where you might believe that by now, Tinubu would be preparing to refurbish a prison for himself to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
So, as the Supreme Court begins to hear the legal battle between the APC, PDP, LP, and APM, brace yourself for these types of sensational headlines and stories.
