The commandant of the corps, Sani Mustapha, emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for criminals, stating that they would face prosecution upon apprehension.

These statements were made during a meeting between Mustapha and the newly-elected executive members of the Nigeria Bar Association at the state command headquarters in Gusau, the capital city.

Mustapha highlighted the corps’ adherence to its legal framework and commitment to executing functions within the boundaries of its establishment Act of 2003 and 2007, as amended.

He assured the NBA leadership of the corps’ readiness to seek professional guidance from the legal community to improve the effective prosecution of criminals intending to disrupt the state’s peaceful environment.

Mustapha commended the Commandant General, Abubakar Ahmed Audi, for the commendable programs of the corps, particularly the maintenance of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Unit under the Peace and Conflict Resolution program.

Expressing confidence in the crucial role of the NBA in the success of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in the state, Mustapha urged the association to collaborate with the Corps and other sister agencies to ensure a safer Zamfara State.

The state chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Barrister Muazu Shehu Ahmed, leading the delegation, commended the NSCDC in Zamfara State and nationally, recognizing the corps as the last resort for the common man.

He praised the corps for safeguarding the rights of ordinary citizens and combating lawlessness in the state.

Barrister Ahmed assured the Corps of the NBA’s support and assistance to facilitate the successful prosecution of suspected criminals in Zamfara State.
