He contended that remaining in Nigeria could open doors to political positions, urging the country’s youth to actively pursue roles in decision-making, especially in matters pertaining to the nation’s economy.

Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State, expressed his discouragement of people leaving the country, stating, “If you are looking for opportunity, please stay back in Nigeria, but if you are looking for 9-5, safety, and others, you can leave the country.”

Highlighting his commitment to honesty, Amaechi attributed his straightforwardness to his fear of God. He asserted that his difference from most Nigerian elites lies in his unreserved and truthful communication, even in the face of adversity.

Refusing to comment on his political career when questioned, Amaechi emphasized his dedication to honesty, stating, “I don’t want to be politically correct, and if diplomacy means lying, then I won’t lie.”

Amaechi served as Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation from 2015 to 2022 under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. After resigning, he contested the presidential primary within the All Progressives Congress but lost to Bola Tinubu in the bid for the presidential election.
