Amidst Corruption Allegations, Ganduje’s Son Makes Surprise Visit To Kano Anti-Graft Agency

Abdulazeez Ganduje, son of the suspended national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, made a significant visit to the Kano State Anti-Corruption and Public Complaints Commission on Wednesday. This visit coincides with a critical phase as the agency escalates its investigation into alleged financial improprieties during Ganduje’s administration.

Heading the commission, Muhuyi Magaji is currently delving into a case concerning the purported diversion of N51 billion during Ganduje’s tenure. This investigation compounds the former governor’s existing legal battles, including prior criminal charges linked to alleged bribes totaling $413,000 and N1.38 billion.

In a surprising turn of events, Abdulazeez has extended support to the commission’s efforts, even against members of his own family, including his father and mother, Hafsat Ganduje, along with his brother. This stance echoes a similar instance in 2021 when he reported his mother to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over accusations of bribery and land fraud.

The agency has meticulously prepared a robust case against the former governor, assembling a lineup of 15 witnesses poised to testify in court. Concurrently, Ganduje’s political trajectory faces additional hurdles, with a Kano court affirming his suspension from the APC on the same day as Abdulazeez’s visit.
