Offiah had celebrated his birthday on August 15, just one day before the tragic event. The Commissioner and his wife, who were also kidnapped during the attack, have since been released.
Offiah, a respected youth leader from Onitsha and a holder of the traditional title Kpajiego, was returned to his hometown on Sunday, August 18. Social media footage captured the arrival of the ambulance carrying Offiah’s body, accompanied by the mournful cries of local residents.
