Anambra Decides: PDP Unveils Ezenwafor, Okeke In Bold Move to Regain Power

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of its governorship and deputy governorship candidates for the upcoming Anambra State election scheduled for November 8, 2025. In a letter dated May 7, 2025, and received by INEC on May 12, the PDP outlined the outcome of its recent primary election. The communication was jointly signed by the party’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

“We wish to formally notify INEC that Ezenwafor Jude C. emerged as the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate for the Anambra Governorship Election on November 8, 2025, following his victory in our primary, which was monitored by the Commission,” the letter read.

The document also confirmed Hon. Okeke Francis Chukwudi as the chosen deputy governorship candidate.

To comply with INEC’s requirements, the PDP stated that it had submitted all relevant documentation, including Forms EC-9, EC-9B, and EC-13B for both candidates.

The party concluded by requesting INEC’s acknowledgment of the submission and reaffirmed its commitment to due process:
“Your kind cooperation in this matter will be sincerely appreciated. Kindly acknowledge receipt and accept the assurances of our highest regards.”
