Anambra Local Government Elections: Voters In High-Risk Areas Directed To Cast Ballots At Council Headquarters

Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Obono Itam made this announcement during a press conference yesterday. He stated, “Locations such as Lilu, Iseke, Ubuluisiuzo, and Mbosi, where insecurity is prevalent, will have designated voting at their local government council headquarters, where security and necessary facilities will be provided.”

The Commissioner emphasized that sufficient police manpower has been deployed across the state to ensure safety during the elections. He also announced a restriction of movement from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, urging residents to comply with this measure.

“We encourage the public, Anambra residents, to come out and vote for their preferred candidates. We are committed to ensuring a secure environment so that the will of the people prevails,” he added.

He reiterated the importance of peaceful conduct, noting that all entry points into Anambra State would be blocked during the election, and encouraged everyone to act responsibly. “This is not a do-or-die affair, and we hope for everyone’s cooperation to ensure a smooth electoral process.”
