Chief Osondu Nwoye, the chairman of Auto Promotion Limited, a prominent motor spare parts company based in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, reportedly collapsed and passed away while watching the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa.

He had traveled from the coastal city of Abidjan to Boake in the inland region of Cote d’Ivoire, the host country, to witness the game before his untimely demise.

The news of Nwoye’s passing had a profound impact on his community in Nigeria. On Friday, the youths of Amanuke, situated in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, gathered in the village square to mourn his loss and fervently prayed that such a tragedy would not befall the community again.

It was reported that prior to his demise, Chief Osondu Nwoye had actively participated in various developmental initiatives within the community.
