According to the police, a detailed investigation has begun to assess the involvement of foreign mercenaries and other subversive elements in the plot against Nigeria’s democratically elected government. ASP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the police, disclosed this at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Adejobi revealed that Wynne had rented premises at Labour House, Abuja, for a venture called ‘Iva Valley Bookshop’ and had established ‘STARS of Nations Schools’ as a cover for his alleged subversive activities.

“The Nigeria Police Force has initiated a comprehensive probe into the activities of foreign nationals and subversive individuals aiming to undermine Nigeria’s democratic governance through unconstitutional means and inciting violence nationwide,” Adejobi stated. “Following extensive intelligence and cooperation with other security agencies, nine suspects have been detained. These individuals received significant financial support from foreign sources to destabilize Nigeria.”

Preliminary findings indicate that these suspects orchestrated and financed violent protests, spread false information, and engaged in other illegal activities to incite chaos and justify their plot to topple the elected government.

Recent developments include the arrest of several Polish nationals by the Department of State Services (DSS) during a protest in Kano. Polish officials claimed that their citizens were in Kano for an exchange program at Bayero University, not involved in the protest, and they were subsequently released after several weeks in detention.
