Senator Samuel Anyanwu has reiterated that he remains the legitimate National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), dismissing any claims of a takeover as mere social media propaganda.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

His comments come after Sunday Ude-Okoye’s arrival at the PDP National Secretariat on Monday, where he assumed the role of National Secretary, citing a recent Court of Appeal ruling. Ude-Okoye claimed the position despite Anyanwu’s continued physical presence in the office, with his personal belongings still intact.

The controversy follows the Court of Appeal’s decision, which upheld the nomination of Ude-Okoye by the South East chapter of the PDP as Anyanwu’s replacement. The nomination occurred after Anyanwu was selected as the party’s candidate in the 2023 Imo State gubernatorial election. Leaders from the South East PDP had declared that Anyanwu’s role as National Secretary ended when he became the party’s gubernatorial candidate.

However, Anyanwu told Daily Sun in a phone interview that he has filed an appeal against the ruling and a stay of execution. He insisted that no one could replace him as the PDP National Secretary, stressing that his legal position allows him to represent the party at INEC. “All these claims are just social media propaganda,” he stated.
