The spotlight fell on Obi’s governance when the former Secretary to the Anambra State Government revealed earlier this week that over 400 SUVs were distributed to traditional rulers across the state during Obi’s administration.

Reacting to this revelation, Omokri took to his social media handle to express his concerns, stating: “Just to put things in perspective, Peter Obi did not build one single school. No nursery, primary, or secondary school built, or university. But he had enough money to buy over 400 SUVs for Anambra Igwes. 400 SUVs! In a state that was experiencing multidimensional poverty at the time.”

Omokri’s remarks have reignited debates about Obi’s legacy in Anambra beyond the distribution of SUVs and the establishment of breweries. Many are questioning what tangible developments were achieved under his leadership, particularly in the education sector.

Critics argue that while the distribution of SUVs may have been a gesture of goodwill towards traditional rulers, it raises questions about the priorities of governance and allocation of resources in the state. They point to the pressing need for investment in education, infrastructure, healthcare, and poverty alleviation programs to uplift the lives of Anambra residents.
