According to Naija News, the suspended individuals also include two active commissioners from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Bayelsa State administration, who are affiliated with the APC.

The suspensions were reportedly linked to allegations of anti-party activities and efforts to create divisions within the party at the state level. Mitin Eniekenemi, the APC leader in Ekeremor Local Government Area, confirmed to journalists on Friday the suspension of Senator Lokpobiri and the Commissioner for Power, Engr. Karin Kumoko.

Eniekenemi explained that the decision followed recommendations from an internal disciplinary committee, formed under Article 21.3(1) of the APC Constitution, as reported by Channels Television.

Meanwhile, in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, APC officials have also suspended David Lyon, along with the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Barr. Peres Biewari, and six others, citing their involvement in actions against the party and misconduct.

The suspended members are accused of damaging the party’s interests, particularly during the 2020 Bayelsa State bye-election. The APC leadership stated that investigations are ongoing, with further details on other members involved in anti-party activities to be revealed as the inquiry progresses.
