The party has expressed its belief that it would be in the best interest of all stakeholders, including Nigerians and political parties, if the electoral commission clarified whether it intends to transmit election results electronically from polling units to its server.

Yekini Nabena, the APC Media and Publicity representative for the Bayelsa State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council, shared this information during a press conference in Abuja on Sunday.

Nabena emphasized that making this request is essential to prevent confusion and to ensure a transparent, equitable, and credible election process.

The APC leader remarked, “INEC should provide clear guidance this time around. Currently, there is no distinct direction. We hear conflicting statements; some say INEC lacks the authority to transmit results electronically.

INEC must establish a clear and unequivocal approach, allowing voters to understand the system and enabling everyone to protect their votes. We should not have a situation where someone can manipulate the process from a government office.”

Therefore, the APC is urging INEC to declare whether it intends to electronically transmit election results from the polling units, clarify its use of the Biometric Voter Authentication System (BVAS), and establish transparent guidelines and procedures from the outset to ensure a fair and credible electoral process.
