Expressing concern over the adverse effects on small businesses and households, the group emphasized the pivotal role of electricity in the economic welfare of many Nigerians.

The statement urged Minister Adelabu to halt discriminatory practices within the power sector, particularly the classification of electricity into consumption bands, which they claim burdens families, especially those in Band A, making it challenging to sustain small and medium-scale enterprises.

Highlighting the significant portion of production costs dedicated to electricity bills, they warned of the resulting inflationary pressures on market prices.

The group called for an end to such discriminatory policies, fearing they could tarnish the administration’s image.

While commending President Bola Tinubu for his reform efforts aimed at bolstering the nation’s economy, they admonished underperforming ministers and cabinet members to improve or face potential removal from office
