Naija News reports that ongoing economic difficulties, including policy measures like fuel subsidy removal and currency devaluation, have raised concerns among Nigerians about Tinubu’s potential removal from office in 2027.

However, in a recent interview, Nze Chidi Duru, the Deputy National Organising Secretary of the APC, defended these reforms as necessary steps to stabilize the precarious economy.

“Our party understands the persistent economic challenges facing the country. President Tinubu is acutely aware of the expectations of the Nigerian people, especially their desire for improved living conditions,” Duru stated.

“In the political landscape, the first term in office is critical as it sets the stage for evaluating performance and reelection prospects. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it is our strong belief that President Tinubu will contest in 2027 under the APC banner, benefiting from the advantage of incumbency,” he continued.

Duru emphasized that despite current hardships, the party remains confident in Tinubu’s leadership and electoral prospects for the future.
