On September 25, the tribunal dismissed the petitions by Adediran and Rhode-Vivour against the victory of Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
In response to the recent judgment by the Court of Appeal, Cornelius Ojelabi, the APC chairman in Lagos State, extended congratulations to the incumbent governor and commended the judiciary for the verdict.
Ojelabi expressed satisfaction that the appellate court’s ruling on the March 18 governorship election reaffirmed the confidence of Lagos residents in the Sanwo-Olu government and its team.
He conveyed the joy of the ruling party, its leaders, and supporters upon receiving the judgment, emphasizing that it underlines the public’s trust in the APC.
Ojelabi stated, “I believe that the pronouncement of the court is a testament to Lagos residents’ confidence in our party.
This outcome laid credence to the ruling of the Lagos State Elections Petition Tribunal, which was also in our favour.”
Ojelabi expressed appreciation for the diligence of the Nigerian judiciary, asserting that the affirmation demonstrates the evolution and reliability of the country’s judicial system.
