APGA’s Soludo Sweeps Votes At Polling Unit, Sets Tone For Anambra Governorship Battle

The incumbent governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has emerged victorious in his polling unit during the ongoing governorship election, defeating his rivals by a wide margin.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Soludo, representing the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), cast his vote at PU 002, Ofiyi Square, Isuofia Ward, in Aguata Local Government Area.

After sorting and counting by the INEC presiding officer, Soludo secured 417 votes, far ahead of his nearest contender, APC candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu, who garnered only four votes. The ACCORD party candidate received a single vote. The polling unit had 933 registered voters, with 430 accredited. INEC recorded 422 valid votes, while eight ballots were invalidated.

BVAS Glitch Interrupts Final Voting Moments
Voting was briefly disrupted when the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) malfunctioned near the end of the exercise, forcing the presiding officer to close the polling station immediately. Several residents who had not yet been accredited were unable to cast their votes, leaving them disappointed.

Despite the technical hiccup, the sorting and counting of votes continued smoothly, and the presiding officer promptly announced the final results after polls closed.
