The communique, titled “Unity and Support for Asue Ighodalo – A Call to Action” and signed by Patrick Okpebholo, stressed the importance of Esan unity and warned against vote splitting, which could undermine their electoral chances. The group highlighted Ighodalo’s candidacy as a unique opportunity for the Esan people to elect a governor from their own community.

The statement read, “We, the Esan people, are at a crucial moment. The upcoming governorship election offers a rare chance to elect Asue Ighodalo, who has shown unwavering commitment to our welfare. However, division and split votes pose a threat. If emotions lead to fragmented support, we risk aiding opposing forces, particularly the Labour Party.”

The group emphasized that failing to unify could delay another similar opportunity for decades. Therefore, they urged all Esan people to consolidate their support and vote for Ighodalo, ensuring a collective effort towards his victory.
