Approval Guaranteed: Tinubu’s Presidential Jet Request Supported By Akpabio

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, affirmed during Thursday’s plenary that the Senate remains undeterred by potential misinformation campaigns aimed at hindering its decision-making processes. He clarified that while there has been no formal request to approve the purchase of a presidential jet, the Senate stands ready to consider such requests in the future.

Akpabio emphasized the Senate’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerians, stating, “We prioritize initiatives that enhance the living standards of our citizens and fulfill the operational needs of the presidency. Should the need arise to repair the president’s vehicle or aircraft, we will address it accordingly.”

Addressing recent media reports, Akpabio dismissed claims of pending approvals for a presidential jet, describing them as baseless attempts to influence public opinion. He underscored the Senate’s responsibility to thoroughly review any proposals that impact national governance positively.

“We must remain vigilant against speculative narratives designed to sway our decision-making. Our focus remains on issues that advance the governance of our nation,” Akpabio added.

Earlier, the Senate leader had cautioned against external efforts to discredit the Senate through misinformation campaigns regarding the presidential fleet.
