Aregbesola Reveals: “I Have Never Slept With Another Woman Since I Married My Wife
The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has declared that he has remained faithful to his wife, Sherifat, throughout their marriage.
Aregbesola made the statement while speaking to party supporters at a recent ADC rally in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
Speaking in Yoruba, the former Osun State governor attributed his commitment to marital fidelity to his religious convictions, describing it as a personal pledge he made before God.
He said his devotion was exclusively to God, adding that only a few men could make the same declaration about their marriages.
Aregbesola told the supporters that he had drawn on his personal conduct while offering a prayer concerning the ADC’s political ambitions in Osun State.
He said, “Oh Lord my God, if you are the one I am serving, and I did not add any other thing to it. What I am about to say, only a few men can say it: Because of your fear, I never had any intimacy with another woman since I married my wife.”
The former governor subsequently expressed optimism about the ADC’s prospects in the forthcoming election.
“I told God that next June, we must do it at the Government House,” he added.
The Osun State governorship election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party seeking a second term.
Adeleke faces challenges from Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Najeem Folasayo Salaam of the ADC and other candidates contesting the election.
Aregbesola, who previously served as governor of Osun State under the APC, has been actively campaigning for the ADC ahead of the poll.
