Armed Robbers Attack Sagamu Hotel, Injure Police Inspector And Two Security Guards

According to SP Omolola Odutola, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the incident occurred when the robbers invaded the Remo Majestic Hotel in Sagamu.
She also mentioned that two of the robbers were fatally wounded by responding policemen who arrived at the scene after receiving a distress call.
Odutola stated, “At about 1 a.m., a distress call was received by the Sagamu division that armed hoodlums were operating at the Remo Majestic Hotel in Sagamu.
Based on the report, a combined team of policemen were mobilized to the scene. Immediately the hoodlums sighted the policemen, they opened fire on them, while the policemen engaged the hoodlums. Two of the hoodlums were fatally wounded, while others escaped into the nearby bush with bullet wounds.”
During the operation, the police recovered locally-made single-barrel guns, four unexpended cartridges, 13 expended cartridges, one large pair of scissors, and 10 Android phones.
Additionally, one Java phone and a white Toyota Venza car with the registration number BWR 123 DD Abuja were discovered at the crime scene.
The Police Inspector and the two security guards who were shot by the armed robbers were rescued and transported to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu for medical treatment. They are reportedly in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspected armed robbers had initially mingled with hotel guests before launching the attack. The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, has been briefed about the incident and has ordered an immediate manhunt for the fleeing suspects who escaped with gunshot wounds.
