A group of armed robbers recently attacked a hotel in Gwarinpa, located in the Federal Capital Territory, resulting in the tragic death of a disc jockey identified as Bashiru Dauda.
The robbery took place in the early hours of Saturday, June 15, 2025, when the assailants stormed a nightclub within the hotel premises. Guests were reportedly robbed of their valuables and personal belongings during the harrowing incident.
According to a witness named Sani, the attack has sparked fear in the area due to a rise in armed robbery cases. He described how the robbers targeted Volcano Hotel, stealing money and phones from guests. Tragically, a DJ was shot during the robbery and later succumbed to his injuries at Jabi hospital.
The FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident, stating that police responded swiftly upon receiving a distress call. They found Bashir Dauda wounded at the scene and rushed him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
SP Adeh further assured residents of ongoing investigations to apprehend the perpetrators and urged vigilance. She emphasized the importance of promptly reporting suspicious activities to the police using designated emergency numbers.
