Army Chief Vows To Annihilate Lukarawa Terrorists In Ongoing OffensiveThe Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has assured Nigerians that the Lukarawa terror group will soon be dismantled. He highlighted the collaborative efforts with the Niger Republic, emphasizing that the joint approach would bring an end to Lukarawa’s reign of terror. “We are hitting them hard on the Nigerian side, and when they flee across the border into Niger, the cooperation with Niger will ensure that Lukarawa is eradicated,” he said.

Oluyede further stressed the importance of regional cooperation in addressing the cross-border security threat posed by the group. “These issues affect not only Nigeria but also our neighboring countries. By working together, we can tackle this threat more effectively,” he explained.

The newly appointed Army Chief also outlined his security strategy during the meeting with President Tinubu. “I’m here to reassure the President that I will do everything in my power to improve security in Nigeria. I plan to adopt a new approach to achieve tangible results,” he added.

Reflecting on his recent visits to military operations in the northwest and northeast, Oluyede emphasized the need for continued pressure on insurgents. “I have urged my officers and soldiers to intensify efforts to eliminate insecurity in the country. I made it clear that my leadership will bring a fresh perspective and that I expect better outcomes,” he concluded.
