Aso Rock Explodes: Presidency Takes Swipe At Atiku, Obi, Sowore In Fresh Political War
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has accused Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Omoyele Sowore of constantly attacking President Tinubu because of their ambitions for the 2027 presidential election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Bwala alleged that the opposition figures focus on criticising Tinubu’s personality, politics and policies without presenting Nigerians with a practical alternative.
The presidential aide made the remarks in a post shared on , where he questioned the character, political style and ideology of the opposition leaders.
“When you see these individuals trying to take power from @officialABAT and relentlessly attacking his life, politics and policies, you can only shake your head in disbelief,” Bwala wrote.
“If you take a closer look at their character, politics and philosophy, you begin to wonder what exactly they stand for.”
Bwala specifically criticised Omoyele Sowore, accusing him of controlling his political party in a way that guarantees him its presidential ticket.
According to him, “@sowore established a political party and made himself national chairman simply to secure the presidential ticket through adoption.
“When elections approach, he temporarily hands over the chairmanship, and after losing, he reclaims the position until the next election cycle. Is that democratic?”
The presidential spokesman also took aim at Peter Obi, accusing the former Anambra governor of moving from one political platform to another in search of automatic tickets without participating in party primaries.
“To @PeterObi, who keeps moving from party to party in search of guaranteed tickets without primaries, while his supporters are left to contest primaries in the same parties where he gets adopted,” Bwala said.
He further claimed that many of Obi’s loyalists had failed in their primary elections, arguing that politics requires more than activism.
“The foot soldiers and rabble-rousers have lost their primaries because politics goes beyond activism, which is what they are mainly known for,” he added.
Bwala also criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, accusing him of hypocrisy over party defections.
“To @atiku, the Waziri of Adamawa, who believes he can move from one political party to another in pursuit of his ambition, but condemns anyone who leaves him to pursue their own aspirations,” he said.
He described the situation as “a classic case of master and servant mentality.”
Bwala further alleged that Atiku expects others to suspend their presidential ambitions until he retires from politics.
“He wants to benefit from Peter Obi and his supporters, but the moment Obi left, he suddenly became the bad guy,” he added.
The presidential aide argued that Tinubu had demonstrated greater democratic credentials than his critics. He pointed out that despite being the incumbent President and capable of emerging through consensus, the APC still conducted a primary election after another aspirant declared interest.
“President Tinubu is far more democratic than all of them,” Bwala stated.
“@officialABAT, as a sitting president, could easily have emerged through consensus, but once another party member declared interest, a primary was organised to ensure fairness. So, who truly believes in democracy?”
Bwala also accused opposition politicians of failing to provide Nigerians with a convincing alternative agenda.
“What these opposition aspirants do daily is simply make noise about our government without presenting a clear alternative direction for Nigerians,” he said.
“They take advantage of every unfortunate incident in the country to attack the government and throw insults around without making a strong case for why Nigerians should support their ambitions. Talk is cheap.”
