Speaking to the National Executive Council of CAN, Akume highlighted governmental strategies to tackle prevailing challenges, cautioning against labor actions that could undermine the Tinubu-led administration’s endeavors.
He acknowledged inheriting a tumultuous nation with depleted foreign reserves and mismanaged sectors but emphasized significant reforms initiated by the president, including fuel subsidy removal. Akume stressed the provision of palliatives to ease the reform impact, such as the 35,000 naira wage boost and allocations for CNG fuel buses.
He also outlined support for sectors like agriculture and small businesses, including conditional grants and palliative loans to states.
Akume condemned recent disruptions like the national grid shutdown, deeming it treasonable.
