According to ASP Timfon John, the State Police Public Relations Officer, the 35-year-old suspect from Ikot Ekong in Mkpat Enin LGA was apprehended based on public tip-offs.
Matthew, allegedly involved in various criminal activities, was seized during a crime prevention patrol. Investigations revealed his history of criminality while posing as a warrant officer in military gear.
Recovered items include a walkie-talkie, suspected stolen phones, a brown coverall, and an RCC ID card.
The suspect is set to face charges following the completion of the investigation, as the police affirm their determination to rid the state of criminals.
CP Waheed Ayilara emphasized the force’s relentless pursuit of law and order in Akwa Ibom.
