Bagudu, a former governor of Kebbi State, addressed the event themed “Nigeria’s Economic Future: 25 Years of Democracy and Beyond.” He recognized that the past 25 years of democracy have not fully met expectations but emphasized that Tinubu’s administration has a plan aimed at delivering tangible benefits to citizens.

“We have a strategy that is working, though it involves making tough choices. We are continually seeking resources to offset these challenges,” Bagudu stated. He also noted that feedback from the dialogue would be taken seriously, underscoring the need for swift improvements.

NESG Chairman, Olaniyi Yusuf, highlighted growth in sectors such as telecommunications, agriculture, and services, but also urged the government to tackle policy inconsistencies and governance issues.

“While we have made progress in various sectors, we must confront ongoing challenges related to policy and governance,” Yusuf said.
