In a post shared via his handle on Wednesday, Olayinka asserted that Atiku has been a major obstacle to the PDP’s progress since 2003.

He recalled events leading up to the 2023 presidential election, alleging that some party stakeholders rejected Wike as Atiku’s running mate on the grounds that Wike would be too difficult to control.

Olayinka criticized that line of reasoning, arguing that the party’s priority should have been winning the election, not controlling individuals.

“They told us Wike would be too powerful as Vice President and hard to control—yet these same people hadn’t even won the election. Then, they called us disloyal,” he wrote.
“Since 2003, Atiku has consistently been the weapon used against the PDP,” Olayinka added.

Meanwhile, former Delta State Governor and PDP’s 2023 vice-presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, has stated that Atiku is likely to exit the PDP soon.

During an interview with ARISE News on Tuesday, Okowa—who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC)—claimed Atiku’s departure from the PDP is imminent, adding that many party members are dissatisfied as the 2027 elections approach.
