During a luncheon honoring the 10th Legislative Assembly of Rivers State, Wike pointed out Atiku’s defeats in the 2019 and 2023 presidential elections, suggesting that Nigerians have rejected him. Wike stated, “If you claim that an election we didn’t participate in reflects rejection, then it’s fair to say that you, who contested and lost, have also been rejected. Therefore, it’s time for you to pack up and go home.”

In response, Shaibu remarked that Wike’s bitterness has aged him prematurely, likening him to a weary septuagenarian. He noted that Wike’s heart seems filled with resentment and suggested that Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara is more than capable of matching Wike’s influence.

Shaibu posted on X, “Who really needs to rest, @GovWike or @Atiku? Just look at how bitterness has transformed a man in his 50s into a weary septuagenarian overnight. Such is the burden of resentment—devoid of grace and charity. Instead of facing the truth, he deflects. It’s evident that the young and determined Fubara is more than a match for him.
