Wike made these allegations during a luncheon he hosted in honor of the 10th Legislative Assembly of Rivers State in Port Harcourt. He referred to Okocha, Awuse, and Anabraba as the “Three Wise Men,” noting that they made significant sacrifices to support Fubara’s rise to governorship.

Wike stated, “On Thursday, another ‘Wise Man’ was insulted. When Okocha was called to the bar, Fubara was not even in primary school. This man has insulted a PhD holder. I’m glad I’m not the only one to face his ingratitude; he has shown the same disrespect to the ‘Wise Men.’ One of them, Awuse, was removed as chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council while he was in a coma, desperately seeking support.”

He recalled that Fubara previously referred to these elder statesmen as wise men on television, but has since disparaged them. “The ‘Wise Men’ have been turned upside down by him. It’s unfortunate—if you’re a bad person, you remain a bad person,” Wike added.
