The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a suspected kidnapper identified as Roland Raymond, as reported through the command’s official communication on Monday.

Roland Raymond, aged 32 and a resident of Detti village in Ganye Local Government Area, was arrested while allegedly attempting to extort ransom.

According to the statement released, “The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested Roland Raymond, aged 32, a resident of Detti village, Ganye LGA, on charges of criminal intimidation related to kidnapping.”

The arrest followed a report by Alhaji Yahaya Congo and Abraham Paul, who claimed that the suspect contacted them by phone and demanded N600,000 under threat of kidnapping.

Upon receiving the complaint, the police in Ganye Division, alongside local hunters, promptly mobilized and apprehended the suspect while he was attempting to collect the demanded ransom.

The statement concluded that “The suspect will face legal proceedings following further investigation.”
