A pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run driver along the Agbara-Badagry expressway last Saturday, resulting in the victim being hospitalized.

According to Mr. William Manga, the Commander of the Badagry Unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the incident occurred at 11:56 am and was reported to the authorities at 11:58 am. Responding swiftly, FRSC personnel arrived at the scene by 12:02 pm.

The accident took place at the Limca Winners axis of the Badagry expressway, involving an unidentified vehicle and driver. The victim, a young man, suffered injuries to his body and a fracture in his left leg.

Following the collision, the injured individual was promptly taken to the General Hospital in Badagry for medical attention. Manga urged the victim’s relatives to visit him at the hospital’s emergency unit in Badagry.

In light of this incident, Manga emphasized the importance of pedestrians exercising caution when crossing the expressway, advising them to thoroughly assess the road before doing so. Additionally, he called upon motorists traveling along the Agbara-Badagry expressway to remain vigilant, particularly due to the current utilization of a single lane.
