Ben Nnabue, the president of NUATE, emphasized this plea during his address at the 11th Quadrennial National Delegates’ Conference in Benin, Edo State.

Nnabue underscored the importance of not overlooking the failure of the Nigerian Air project and stressed that instead of being swept aside, the National Carrier should undergo a comprehensive restructuring to align with the country’s interests.

He emphasized that the success of the Nigeria Air project is crucial for the advancement of the nation’s aviation sector.

In his words, “I humbly urge the Minister of Aviation to conduct a forensic audit on the national carrier project, recast the general directions, and represent them for delivery.

It is important to state that the national carrier project is exceedingly vital to the growth of Nigerian aviation.

The delivery should, therefore, not be undermined. We demand that the project be remodelled to benefit all stakeholders and fit the industry’s and national needs.”

This call for action follows the suspension of the Nigeria Air project by Minister Festus Keyamo amid escalating controversies.

The project had been hastily unveiled towards the end of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
