According to a family friend speaking to SaharaReporters, the bandits contacted the widow early on Sunday, demanding the hefty ransom. The source recounted the conversation, where the widow, in disbelief over the demand, questioned how she could gather such a sum as she is a widow without substantial financial means. The bandits, upon recognizing her voice, confirmed they held her sons captive and abruptly ended the call, subsequently shutting off communication channels.
