Benue Government Clarifies: House Torched By Hoodlums Not Linked To Ex-Governor....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Benue State Government has refuted media claims suggesting that the residence of the late former Governor, Aper Aku, in Gboko was set ablaze by hoodlums. Contrary to earlier reports, it has been clarified that the targeted property actually belonged to Ityungu Aku, a relative of the former governor. This revelation comes amidst ongoing investigations by the State Police Command to ascertain the perpetrators behind the attack.
Solomon Iorpev, the Technical Advisor to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Media, Publicity, and Strategic Communication, emphasized that the assault on Ityungu Aku’s family residence was neither orchestrated by bandits nor Fulani herdsmen. Governor Alia has vehemently denounced the incident, labeling it as “barbaric and reprehensible,” and has urged the Caretaker Chairman of Gboko Local Government to conduct a thorough investigation for prompt action.
It’s crucial to note that while condemning any form of property destruction within the state, it’s imperative to understand that the targeted residence was that of Mr. Ityungu Aku, a relative of the former governor, located in Mbayion near the former Ter Gboko Akaahan Adi’s house.
This clarification underscores the commitment of the Benue State Government to uphold justice and ensure the safety of its citizens.
