Benue PDP Announces New Rules For LG Election Process

The guidelines, issued on Monday and signed by the party’s Caretaker Committee Publicity Secretary, Hon. Oryina Orvaa, outline the process for screening and primaries. According to Orvaa, the screening for councillorship aspirants will take place on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, as follows:
– Aspirants from Zone A will be screened at London Galaxy Hotel in Adikpo at 10:00 am.
– Zone B aspirants will be screened at 10:00 am at the PDP State Secretariat in Makurdi.
– Zone C aspirants will undergo screening at Leach Hotel in Otukpo at 10:00 am.

Chairmanship aspirants who have submitted their expression of interest and nomination forms will be screened at the PDP headquarters in Makurdi on the same day.

Primaries for councillorship candidates will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the respective council ward headquarters, while chairmanship primaries will occur at the local government area headquarters on the same day.

Any appeals arising from the screening and primaries will be addressed on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the party headquarters in Makurdi. Aspirants are required to submit completed forms along with their tax clearance certificates, party membership and voters cards, photocopies of nomination and expression of interest forms, evidence of payment of handling charges, and academic qualifications during their screening.
