Tigran Gambaryan, a detained Binance executive, has accused the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of infringing upon his fundamental human rights.

In a legal action marked as originating motion FHC/ABJ/CS/356/24, Gambaryan contends that his detention and confiscation of his international travel passport violate Section 35(1) and (4) of the 1999 Constitution.

He petitions the court to demand the release of his passport and immediate release from the custody of the NSA and EFCC.

Additionally, Gambaryan seeks a perpetual injunction against the respondents and demands a public apology.

Gambaryan clarifies that he traveled to Nigeria, along with Nadeem Anjarwalla, in response to invitations from the ONSA and EFCC to discuss matters concerning Binance.

Anjarwalla, who escaped from their shared accommodation, also files a similar suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/355/24.

During the recent court session, T.J. Krukrubo (SAN) represented the plaintiffs, while there was no representation for the respondents.

Krukrubo informed the court of the respondents’ recent notification and later withdrew as counsel for Anjarwalla without specifying reasons.

The trial judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo, adjourns the proceedings till April 8.
