Following a fresh price slash at the Dangote Refinery, fuel marketers and dealers are predicting that pump prices of petrol across Nigeria could drop to below ₦900 per litre.
On Monday, the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery in Lekki introduced a ₦10 rebate for customers purchasing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at ₦835 per litre.
This move was confirmed by officials from the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN).
Retailers connected to Dangote – including MRS, Ardova (AP), Heyden, Optima Energy, Hyde, and Techno Oil – are expected to adjust their pump prices in response.
For instance, MRS stations in Abuja were selling petrol at ₦910 per litre as of Monday evening. However, a staff member revealed that the price could drop to ₦900 per litre by mid-week, likely between Wednesday and Thursday.
