Naira Weakens in Official Market:
As reported on the CBN website, the Naira depreciated further in the official window, trading at ₦1,602.18/$1, marking a drop of ₦5.49 or 0.34% compared to the previous rate of ₦1,596.69 on April 30.
Before the Workers’ Day public holiday on May 1, the naira had shown some stability, with rates hovering around ₦1,599.95, ₦1,599.71, and ₦1,596.69 between April 28 and 30. However, it ended the week with a downward trend, also reflecting a minor loss of 0.02% at the start of the trading week.
