Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has expressed that he wouldn’t mind returning to Kirikiri Correctional Centre. He likened his time in jail to a vacation……CONTINUE READING
Bobrisky explained that during his imprisonment, he found it to be a period of rest, after working so hard. It’s worth noting that Bobrisky was released on Monday, August 5, 2024, after serving a six-month sentence for abusing the naira by spraying it at parties.
He was sentenced on April 12, 2024, to six months in prison, without the option of a fine, by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos.
During an appearance on the ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ show, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Bobrisky mentioned that he would actually love to go back to jail. He stated, “I see my jail term as a vacation. You know, on vacation, you go and rest. I’ve been working so hard, and I think their decision was okay for me.
“The decision was meant to break me, but unfortunately, nothing happened to the Mummy of Lagos. I’m still fine, I’m still good, and I will continue to be fine and good.”
When the host, Bae U, asked, “Prison fit you o! Would you like to go again?” Bobrisky responded, “I would love to go, maybe for a short term like that again. Short term, not long-term.
“The reason I would love to go again is that these people really want to break me. I have never seen a place where someone is sentenced to prison for spraying money. It’s funny to me. Everything happened like a movie. Spraying money? It’s my money. I’m not owing anybody money. I didn’t steal money, I didn’t kidnap, I didn’t rape, I didn’t kill anyone. I spent my own hard-earned money, and I was sent to a place with criminals.
“But as I always say, I’m a very strong person. If I’ve chosen this lifestyle to be who I want to be, then I should be ready for the worst. And the worst that has happened is being sent to prison because, obviously, I didn’t do anything, I didn’t kill anyone.”
However, Bobrisky insisted that he does not consider himself an ex-convict, arguing that spraying money shouldn’t be a convictable offense. “I’m not an ex-convict because I can’t be convicted for spraying money. So I won’t accept that label,” he said.
