In a phone conversation released by social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky allegedly admitted to serving his sentence outside prison. Sources suggest that the controversial figure paid ₦15 million to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to have ‘money laundering’ charges removed from his record.

These claims have reignited debates over corruption within Nigeria’s prison system. In response, Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has ordered a full investigation into allegations of bribery and misconduct within the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Though Bobrisky was officially sentenced in April and taken to Kirikiri prison, sources told FIJ that he left after just three weeks. His release was officially recorded in August, prompting widespread skepticism about the circumstances surrounding his imprisonment and eventual release.

A prison official told FIJ, “Bobrisky only spent three weeks in Kirikiri before being taken to an unknown location. It was an ‘arranged’ situation, and money was involved.” The official also revealed that Bobrisky was “guarded like a president” and received VIP treatment throughout his time in custody.

Bobrisky reportedly lived in a special cell, with limited contact with other inmates. One incident involved an inmate who accidentally filmed Bobrisky during a video call, leading to the inmate being punished with two months of confinement.

The source added that Bobrisky’s transfer after three weeks was handled discreetly, ensuring minimal attention to his departure.
