Uju Agomoh, Executive Director and founder of Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA), and a panel member, stated that there is no evidence to support the assertion that Bobrisky was housed outside the prison during his sentence from April 12, 2024, to August 5, 2024.
“The panel did not find any evidence thus far that suggested Mr. Okuneye slept outside the custodial center during the period of his imprisonment,” Agomoh explained, as reported by Vanguard.
She clarified that Bobrisky completed his six-month correctional sentence with the usual remission applicable to such cases. However, she noted that the investigation revealed he received certain privileges while incarcerated.
Minister Tunji-Ojo inaugurated the panel in Abuja on September 30, following the release of an audio in which Bobrisky claimed to have served his sentence in a flat near the prison.
