George specifically referenced former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, who, after joining the Social Democratic Party (SDP), invited opposition figures like Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP to join the new party.

Speaking on Arise Television on Friday, George warned that those advocating for such a coalition were making “monumental mistakes” and emphasized that no nation or political party is free from crisis.

He remarked, “All those talking about forming a mega party, aren’t they driven by their own ambition to be president of Nigeria? Is that the real solution to our problems?”

George further explained, “The issue began as a minor disagreement during our national convention, and we advised that the party is not anyone’s personal property, but no one listened. Then Wike took matters into his own hands, crossing the red line.”

He concluded, “No nation or party is crisis-free. Those pushing for personal ambitions are making a monumental mistake, and they’re disrespecting the legacy of our founding fathers.”

Additionally, George urged President Bola Tinubu to approach the state of emergency situation in Rivers State with caution and advised the people of Rivers to refrain from violence, seeking to avoid further escalation of the state’s volatile situation.
