The State House media office announced the departure on Saturday morning, stating, “President Bola Tinubu departs to attend NDA Anniversary in Kaduna.”

On February 5, the Academy unveiled an emblem and crest, marking 60 years since its establishment. The Diamond Jubilee celebrations commenced three days earlier at the NDA Auditorium in Afaka, drawing attendees such as NDA alumni, former Commandants, serving and retired military officers, personnel from various security and paramilitary organizations, and representatives from diverse institutions.

Major General Rabiu Aliyu (retd.), a member of the pioneer Regular Course 1 of 1964, served as the Special Guest of Honour during the festivities.

President Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja on the same day and subsequently travel to Abidjan, the capital of Côte d’Ivoire, to witness the AFCON final showdown between Nigeria and the host country.
