Breaking: INEC Presents Certificate Of Return To Newly Elected Zamfara Lawmaker
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially presented a Certificate of Return to Kamilu Sa’idu, winner of the Kaura Namoda South State Constituency by-election in Zamfara State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
the presentation took place on Monday at the INEC office in Gusau, the state capital, following last Thursday’s rerun in five polling units across two registration areas.
INEC had earlier declared the August 16 by-election in 109 polling units across six registration areas of Kaura Namoda Local Government inconclusive due to irregularities in some centres.
Presenting the certificate, Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mahammud Isah, described the poll as a true reflection of democratic principles.
“It was a free, fair, and credible election. I commend all stakeholders for their cooperation in ensuring a successful exercise,” he said.
Dr. Isah congratulated the APC lawmaker-elect, urging him to deliver meaningful development to his constituency.
Also speaking, Zamfara APC Chairman, Alhaji Danfulani Maikatako, praised INEC and security agencies for their role in the by-election and rerun.
“This victory shows the acceptance of our party in Zamfara. In 2027, APC will reclaim its stolen mandate. Even in 2023, it was our supporters who voted PDP into power due to misunderstandings among our leaders,” Maikatako stated, assuring members that internal party issues would be resolved before the next general elections.
In his remarks, Sa’idu expressed gratitude to party leaders and supporters for their trust, pledging to serve with commitment.
“I promise to use my experience to bring development to Kaura Namoda South and Zamfara State at large,” he said.
