According to the Board:

“The minimum admissible scores for admissions for the next academic session have been fixed at 150 for universities, 100 for polytechnics, 100 for colleges of education, and 140 for colleges of nursing sciences by the stakeholders (Heads of Tertiary Institutions).”

In a related development, JAMB reaffirmed that the minimum age requirement for tertiary admission remains 16 years. The Board explained that this policy is enforced through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) and applies to candidates who will turn 16 on or before August 31, 2025.

However, the Board raised alarms over reports of “illegal backdoor admissions”, stating that some institutions had enrolled underage candidates outside the CAPS framework — and even collected hefty tuition fees from them.

JAMB warned that such admissions are null and void, emphasizing that only candidates processed through CAPS and who meet all criteria — including age — will be officially recognized.
