The iconic “Gwo Gwo Gwo” crooner died on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the age of 95.
His death was confirmed by his eldest son, Emma Ejeagha, in a statement to Vanguard on Friday night.
Ejeagha reportedly passed at the 32 Garrison Hospital in Enugu, operated by the Nigerian Army.
In the 1980s, Mike Ejeagha’s distinctive brand of Igbo folk music made him a household name, with his lyrical wisdom and cultural depth leaving a lasting imprint on generations of Nigerians.
