In his acceptance speech, Governor Buni expressed gratitude to his fellow governors and delegates for their trust and pledged to collaborate with development partners and stakeholders to achieve meaningful progress in the region.
He stated, “It is gratifying that my colleagues have found me worthy of chairing the forum for the next two years. On behalf of myself, the government, and the people of Yobe State, I deeply appreciate this decision. I assure you all that I will serve with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment, working closely with you and our development partners for the success of the forum and the region’s overall development.”
Governor Buni also commended the outgoing chairperson, Governor Ildjima Abdraman of Hadjer Lamis Province, Chad, for her exceptional leadership and dedication to the forum’s objectives. He emphasized that his tenure would prioritize strengthening cross-border cooperation, improving security, and promoting sustainable development across the Lake Chad Basin.
Buni remarked, “I especially thank Her Excellency Ildjima Abdraman for her leadership, which has been instrumental in advancing the forum’s goals. Together, we will continue to build on these achievements for the benefit of the region.”
